Which containers you can cash in
Eligible
Glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard containers between 150ml and 3 litres can be returned. You will receive a 10 cent refund for every eligible beverage container.
To be eligible the beverage container must:
- Have contained a beverage product that is not excluded from the scheme.
- Newly accepted containers may not show the 10ยข mark yet, but they’re still accepted at our refund points.
- Be an approved container. Some containers are made out of materials that cannot be recycled.
Beverage containers not eligible for a refund include those that are smaller than 150ml or larger than 3 litres.
Ineligible
Beverage containers not eligible for a refund include those that are smaller than 150ml or larger than 3 litres.
Other exclusions include:
- Plain milk containers
- Yakult containers
- Registered health tonics
